School timetable generator you can edit in minutes
Acadika's school timetable software generates a draft with a rule-based solver, not an AI guess. It follows teacher-subject mapping, a maximum of 6 periods per teacher a day, at most 2 periods of the same subject a day and the class teacher in period 1. You then edit by drag and drop, and publishing blocks teacher double-booking.
Included in the Core plan and above, from ₹10,000/year + ₹3 per student per month (+ GST).
What you get with Acadika
Setup wizard
Enter timings, lunch, working days, half days, classes and sections, subjects (including stream groups) and teachers once.
Rule-based generation
A deterministic solver fills the grid using your rules. The same inputs give the same kind of result, and nothing is invented.
Drag-and-drop editor
Move periods by dragging, undo mistakes, and use merged periods where classes or teachers combine.
Publish with checks
Work in draft, then publish. Publishing blocks a teacher from being booked in two places at once.
Master view
See teacher load and conflicts across the school in one view.
AI conflict fixes and chat edits
Ask AI to resolve a conflict by swapping periods, or type "move Maths to Tuesday period 3".
How it works
- 1
Run the setup wizard
Add timings, days, classes, subjects and the teachers who take them.
- 2
Generate a draft
The solver builds the timetable. Slots it cannot fill are left free, with a substitute suggestion.
- 3
Edit
Drag periods, use the master view to spot conflicts, and use chat edits for quick changes.
- 4
Publish
Publish the timetable once it passes the double-booking check.
How does a school timetable generator work?
A timetable generator takes your classes, subjects, teachers and period structure and fills the weekly grid so that no teacher is in two classes at once. Acadika uses a rule-based solver, so the logic is predictable and you can see why a slot was filled.
- Teachers are placed only in subjects they are mapped to.
- No teacher gets more than 6 periods in a day.
- No class gets more than 2 periods of the same subject in a day.
- The class teacher takes period 1 of their class.
- A slot that cannot be filled is left free and marked with a substitute suggestion.
Frequently asked questions
A good timetable generator respects teacher-subject mapping, workload limits and class-teacher rules, then lets you edit freely. Acadika does this with a rule-based solver, a drag-and-drop editor and publish checks, in the Core plan from ₹10,000 a year plus ₹3 per student per month.
The first draft is made by a rule-based solver, not an AI model, so it follows your rules predictably. AI is used afterwards for resolving conflicts by swapping periods and for chat edits like "move Maths to Tuesday period 3".
Yes. Use the drag-and-drop editor with undo, keep changes in draft, and publish when ready. Publishing blocks teacher double-booking.
They are marked free, with a substitute suggestion, so you can decide what to do rather than getting an invalid timetable.
